Hey Savages, it's Kim today here with a Halloween tutorial. This month we got that wonderful jar of chalkboard paint in the mixed media add on. I love this paint. I have already used it on several layouts. However I got to thinking, how else can I use this paint?

Chalkboard anything is a HUGE trend right now. You know what else is a HUGE trend right now, Mason jars. So why not combine the two? Then throw in a bit of Halloween. This is what I came up with:

Check out my post on the forums as I walk you thru my process with a photo tutorial. Here is a direct link to the post Luminary Tutorial.

I was so happy to get home from vacation and play more  with the Swirlydoos Kit Club October kit!  I was only able to do 3 layouts before we left so I have lots to share with you today!

First up is a step birthday card made with Blue Fern Studios Montage papers.  Blue Fern papers are so heavy weight, they are great for card making. I used a sheet of "Now & Then" for making the card and side trimmings from "Fairyland" for the bottom and side panels.   I completed the card with Prima flowers and a stick pin from the add on kits.

The Prima Epiphany collection is showcased in our October kit and I used Epiphany papers for this layout.  Everything except the mask and modeling paste are from the main kit and flower and embellishment addons.  I cut the swirls with a new die I got from the Swirlydoos store; it's a Kaisercraft large flourish wafer thin die.  I love it!!

For this layout of my parents and the great grandchildren,  I used Blue Fern Studios Montage papers and added some masking.  I especially love the Blue Fern mini flourishes that came in the main kit! I've used flowers from the flower addon and embellies from the embellishment addon.

And finally a tag that I made from my leftover kit scraps.  The tag itself is Blue Fern Montage "Wisdom, and the circles are Epiphany paper scraps that I inked and added a bird rubon from my stash.  The white lace and stick pin are from the main kit, the other ribbons and flowers are from my stash.

Hi  =) today I want to show you two layouts made with the October kit "Treasured Yesterdays". It´s a gorgeous kit to work with. It almost scraps itself! My first layout is a happy one.

For this page I used both the Prima Epiphany papers and Blue Fern Studios Montage papers. I have used the main kit, flower kit and Embellishment kit. My next layout has totally different colors, but it´s still the same kit.

I have used the main kit, flower kit, embellishment kit and mediiums kit. Love that Prima Stencil and Viva Decor Modeling creme.

Thanks for stopping by =)

Hello everyone! Today I'm sharing two more projects I made with the utterly gorgeous October Kit, Treasured Yesterdays. For both projects I used mostly the Prima Epiphany papers and embellishments.

First up is a mini album. I took the Honeycomb Resist Canvas, cut it in half and machine stitched the two pieces together to make the album. Here is the front cover.

page 1 and 2

 page 3 and 4

page 5 and 6

Here is a layout of my two oldest girls. I'd thought I'd scrap a picture of their real selves since the last page I did of them they were all made up. I painted the orange flowers  from the Flower Add-On with Gesso. They were a bit to bright and I needed more of a peach to better match my color scheme.

Here are just some close-ups of all the layering of paper and embellies that I love t do!

Thanks for taking a peek!

Hi everybody! Helena here today to share two more layouts with the totally amazing October kit  - Treasured Yesterdays. This kit has so many pretty embellies and papers in it - I could create forever!

The first page I'm showing you is a playful, fun one. I decided to use a banner as my main design, and used the beautiful Prima Epiphany papers both for the background and smaller pieces beneath my photos. I have then decorated with flowers from the main kit and flower add on, and the wood Icons and stick pins from the main kit.

A couple of close-ups for you:

I added small pieces of cheese-cloth under the photos, distressed the paper pieces and also painted with some white gesso, to get texture and dimension.

My second layout today is a circular one. I love making layouts in different shapes. I have used a plate as a template, and cut two papers (Prima Epiphany collection) with a regular pair of scissors, and one paper using a decorative scissors. This way I get a shabby, distressed look, and a nice frame on my page.

I have decorated with flowers from the main kit and flower add on, and also a couple of embellies from the main kit (wood icon and stick pin from Prima's Epiphany Collection). Under the photo I have layered a few of the journaling cards from the main kit (distressed the edges of course!).

Thank you for stopping by the Swirlydoos blog today!

xoxo

Hi Everyone!  Debbie with you today to share my second October Vintage Love reveal.  I have to tell you that I loved this kit so much I used everything!  I have nothing left...I couldn't put it away and I got some great projects out of it! The patterned papers that came with this kit are from Prima and Blue Fern Studios and they are perfect for my daughters wedding layouts!  The kit comes with so many embellishments including some seed beads which is used to cover the Blue Fern Chipboard Swirls and to make the sprays.
Here's a few step out photos of the details.

This kit is also loaded with some beautiful flowers as you can see in these two photos.

Step out photos of the details on this layout.

Hope you enjoyed my layouts and be sure to stop by often as our amazing design team will be revealing more of the Vintage Love kit!

Hey Savages, I'm back to share some more layouts I created with this months kit *Treasured Yesterday*. This kit was so much fun to create with, between the Prima Epiphany and Blue Fern papers down to the embellishments and mixed media. I just couldn't stop creating.

Next up are more layouts using photos from my European vacation this year. I had a lot of fun doing this layout and went a little heavy on the mixed media.I used elements from the main, flower, embellishment and mixed media kits. The black chalkboard paint in the mixed media kit is AH-MAZING!! I just love it. I added a few pieces from my stash (film strip tape, washi tape and chipboard).

My next layout uses the Blue Fern paper. I just love this line, the paper is so yummy! I did just a bit of stenciling on the background. I used the pretty blue modeling creme from the mixed media kit. How about that heart doily, isn't it just perfect. It's from the embellishment kit, so is the blue corrugated paper. I so love that lace. This photo is still part of my European vacation collection.

My last layout to share is another layout created using the Epiphany line. There are tons of layers going on here. Plus lots of mixed media. I did some stenciling, stamping and misting. I know I've said this already, but this kit was so amazing it was just hard not to get carried away.

This layout also has elements from all the kits. The circle chipboard and stamps are from my stash. I painted the circle with the chalkboard paint. The kit also included some micro beads. I added a bit of gloss gel medium randomly on the page and adhered the micro beads. The photo is dh and I outside of the Louvre.

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my layouts created with the *Treasured Yesterdays* kit.
